最早听到这曲就是荷兰队被拒在02年世界杯门外时候***5放了这一曲子。后来在世界杯的时候每每强队要告别世界杯时，这支哀怨的曲子就随之响起，它将人的心情渲染得淋漓尽致。
这首Short Trip Home 是专辑《HEARTLAND 》里边的曲子，专辑是约夏贝尔，马友友（大提琴），艾格麦尔（蓝调+摇滚派的低音大提琴演奏家）及马克欧康（乡村小提琴）几个人的精选合成集子。Short Trip Home是一首风格定位在蓝调草根乐（美国阿巴拉契亚蓝调及乡村的流行化产物）之上的协奏曲。由于旋律基本在中音区，因此有可能被误当作大提琴。实际上低音弦的音色比高音弦更有色彩感，连绵而平缓的行进听起来给人一些伤感孤寂的感觉，象在讲述陈年旧事。说起伤感孤寂，其实乐曲配器并不单调，除小提琴之外，还配有曼托林（类似琵琶的拨弦乐器），低音提琴和低音吉他合弦。Short Trip Home的音乐成份，甚至让人感觉到一丝爱尔兰的田园风味。而爱尔兰那些平静的山野里，又飘荡着多少顽强不屈的灵魂。
